June 24th, 2026 — Today is National Take Your Dog to Work Day, which somehow led us to modern art, lost nuclear weapons, and bridge construction.

In this episode, we look at Pablo Picasso’s first major exhibition in Paris… the extraordinary recovery efforts following the loss of a hydrogen bomb near Greenland… and the opening of the Humber Bridge, which became the world’s longest suspension bridge span at the time.

Plus, the birthday of Peter Weller, the actor best known as RoboCop who later became a respected historian and educator.

A lot of today’s stories ended up becoming about ambitious ideas:

creative ambition,

engineering ambition,

and the determination to tackle seemingly impossible challenges.

Anyway… that’s what I ended up finding while working through June 24.
